The "Safe Passage" Whale Totems nonprofit project involves the installation of seven large (height:6-8 ft.) sculpted marble whale totems at public whale watching sites between Crescent City, California and Taholah, Washington.*
This nonprofit project was conceived for the purpose of honoring these magnificent creatures, raising awareness about their unique abilities and behavior, and offering them safe passage in their seasonal migrations.
All of the whale totems will be carved from white Colorado Yule marble by Oregon sculptor
Cheryl Haddock, whose reverence for
whales amd desire to raise awareness about the perils they face inspired her to offer her skills on this project.
This is a nonprofit project and all costs associated with materials and installation will be funded through donations.
Any profits raised above the project costs will be donated to whale advocacy organizations. If you are interested in donating to this project, call Cheryl Haddock at (541) 646-6750 or click here to send email.
*With acknowledment and appreciation for California sculptor Warren Arnold who originally conceived the idea to install whale totems at whale watching sites and completed the installation of
eight sculpted marble whale totems in Northern California from 1998-2001.
